Ian Hamilton

Ian Hamilton serves as president of General Merchandise at Circana. In this role, he oversees all General Merchandise operations and leads strategic initiatives designed to strengthen the company’s market position and deliver exceptional value to clients across multiple sectors.

Previously, Hamilton led Circana’s Technology sector beginning in 2014, which evolved to include Home and Office Supplies and, in 2024, became the Hardlines sector with the addition of Automotive. Under his leadership, the company launched innovative solutions such as AI PC analytics, B2B Tech Invoice solutions, Forecasting, and more. Hamilton also played a pivotal role in international expansion, where he developed the technology business in Asia — driving significant growth among China-based clients — and drove the launch of Tech and Home services in Europe.

With 18 years of experience at the organization, Hamilton brings a unique combination of analytical rigor, commercial acumen, and strategic vision to his leadership. He holds a master’ degree in entrepreneurship from San Diego State University.
