Sales per $MM ACV (“Sales per Million”)

Total sales volume of stores, used to weight distribution and reach.

Definition

All Commodity Volume is the sum of total sales across stores in a market for all products, used as a weight to value store importance.

How to Calculate

Add total store sales for all items across all stores in the market for the defined period.

Why it Matters

It shows the sales power of a store or banner, so small brands can target the doors that matter most.

Key Advantages

Focuses on selling power, supports efficient distribution, and aligns with retailer scale.

Example

If a market has $900,000,000 in total store sales this quarter, that is the market ACV.

Use it to

Normalize revenue by ACV to compare productivity across channels, retailers, or items. Use the measure to spot where distribution delivers strong value per million ACV.
